Wi-Fi 6/6E/7

The new generation of IEEE 802.11ax standard (Wi-Fi 6/6E) communication products have entered the market and its high-end spectrum has been extended to 5.12 - 7.12 GHz.
In such demanding environments, uplinks and downlinks must share channels efficiently at the same time to improve network efficiency and reduce latency (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access, OFDMA); also allow more downlink data to be transmitted at once , enabling the access point to transmit data to more devices at the same time (Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output, MU-MIMO), and using 1024-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) to improve Wi-Fi devices throughput.
Based on the above high frequency and modulation modes, PA linearity requirements are more stringent, and traditional PAs will no longer be applicable. This emerging market will provide new business opportunities for GaN PAs.
According to the report of the Wi-Fi Alliance, it is expected that by 2023, the industrial economic value of the global Wi-Fi will reach USD 3.47 Trillion; the enterprise network is the main paid downstream of Wi-Fi 6/6E in the early stage; high-traffic applications such as AV/VR will drive the accelerated growth of the Wi-Fi 6/6E market.
